When we awaken to the fact that the Universe is a Holy Matrix whose inner and outer dimensions are evolving simultaneously it is a revelatory moment. Through this realization we begin to awaken to the inherently integral nature of the entire process. We see that our own capacity for deep interiority is what has traditionally been called the Mystical Life. In addition, we realize that this interiority or "Christ consciousness" is continually pressing to evolve.
During this retreat we will dig deep, push up against the edges of our own consciousness individually and collectively and press towards the farther shore where the Divine Impulse urges us to create the future at a higher level than what exists in the present moment. This urge to become is the new and emerging face of the eternal God.
Silence, meditation and reflection will be part of this retreat experience of living on the edge.

This ecology colloquium offers an in-depth experience of eco-spirituality and is for all who care about our Earth, our future and what our Christian faith can contribute to conversations around the environment. Participants will be encouraged to experience God in the beauty of our land through outdoor prayer and contemplation, as well as to explore the issue of justice for Earth within the Christian context of biblical justice. Together, we will celebrate a holistic understanding and integration of our interconnectedness with Creation, inspiring a deeper commitment to the healing of ourselves, the elements, and the multi-species community of life.
The colloquium will be facilitated by Maureen Wild, S.C., and Jim Profit, S.J., who both bring years of experience and commitment to ecological spirituality to their present work. Originally from Peace River in northern Alberta, Maureen has been a Sister of Charity of Halifax since 1983. She has a wide range of ministry experience within both inner-city settings and ecological learning centres. Maureen currently lives on one of the Gulf Islands in British Columbia.
